...and went to Florida. I had hoped to have it on my tombstone that I had never been to Florida or Great Adventure. There is still a chance for the latter.
However, Himself wants to move there (Gasp! Leave my great Atlantic Northeast?!). In order to have an educated argument against moving, I had to visit the Sunshine State.
My brother-in-law and his lovely wife were the perfect hosts. It was the first time in the twenty-nine or so years that Himself and I have been together that I have spent any time alone with them. We were always at family gatherings. Blessedly, we really like each other! That made the trip worth it.
As for Florida itself, do you know what the Bronx cheer is? Also known as "raspberries?" I was not impressed. No offense to anyone but I like my green, four season, never know what is going to happen in those seasons Atlantic northeast. You can keep the palm trees.
My sister lived in Florida while she went to school. It rained every day that she was there. Palmetto bugs and letting lizards run around the house to eat Palmetto bugs. My husband says there is a reason the federal government put Native Americans in Florida and it wasn't cause it was a great place to be.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to stay put.
I agree. Liked living in North Carolina, you get the best of both worlds, but Florida weather is too much the same and most of it too damned hot except with the regular afternoon thunderstorms.
ReplyDeleteHi, Gail, sounds like the Florida trip was fun.
ReplyDeletePassing through on the A-Z Challenge Trail.
I grew up with four seasons and am back in that land now. However, I spent 15 years in between on the Gulf Coast with more moderate but boring weather. I will take four seasons anytime.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck with the A-Z challenge.
I'm a Buckeye Gal myself, but Florida beckons to me once a year or so. I don't like summer in Florida. It's too hot but I'm not opposed to a break from all the snow we receive here in the Midwest. I'm here from the A-Z Challenge. :)
